Take a minute…Breathe!
Relaxing, decompressing – yes, that’s good for your health! It’s not all fitness and proper nutrition (although that is important). The pandemic certainly brought everyone more challenges and increased stress to their lives. In fact I don’t know anyone that wasn’t impacted to some extent by the lockdowns over the pandemic. Social, emotional, financial …however the isolation affected you and your family, it definitely made a lot of us ponder how we’ve been living. Let’s face it…we work hard and what it made me realize was we don’t spend enough time in the moment. We spent more time with our families, for better or for worse. I spent so much more time with my teens which at that age is hard to come by. It was great, really it was. Anyway, joking aside, find something that you enjoy doing. Is it reading? Writing in a journal? Exercising? Or (my personal favorite) spending time with your pets? Take that time to enjoy yourself. Forget about the daily chores if even for an hour and do what makes you happy and live in that moment. Taking that time will help you feel recharged and is great for your mind, body and soul. It helps you deal with stress better and decreases any anxiety you may feel from things in life that happen that are beyond your control. And is just as much a part of health as exercise.
What is it you do either alone or with others to live in the moment?
